Something different, burning my photo prints. Now before you jump to conclusions of burning a photo of New york city see my side of it first.
I want to start adding more depth to my creations and try going in different directions. Fire is symbolic of destruction and it can destroy anything in it’s path, I used this as a physical component for the above photograph of New york city where the city is being destroyed by fire but then you have to look at twice to see the reality of it, that the Empire state building remains and is untouched. I did this to share the idea of how when those who witness destruction, that they forget to see the reality of what is occurring in front of their very eyes. The Empire state building is something recognized by most people and in this photograph is symbolic of hope in the sense that even when there is easily recognizable destruction occurring, you can still find a little hope in all of the madness, or something like that- I feel like I’m making shit up now and talking out of my ass so I will leave it at this.
